Your privacy matters to us. This notice explains what personal information Roofing Plus Ltd collects, how we use it and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
Who we are
Roofing Plus Ltd is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. If you have any questions about it, email roofingplusltd@gmail.com or call 07538 435686.
Information we collect
We only collect personal information you choose to give us when you phone, email or text us. This can include:
- Your name and contact details, such as your phone number and email address
- The address of the property you'd like us to look at
- Details and photos of your roof or the work you need
- Anything else you share with us during your enquiry or job
Cookies and website visits
We use Google Analytics, provided by Google, to understand how people use this website, such as which pages are visited and how visitors found us. It sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) that store a random identifier and last for up to two years, and it collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location and the device and browser you use. We only use this to improve the website, never to identify you, and we don't use advertising trackers.
Analytics starts when you arrive on the site. You can switch it off at any time by choosing "Decline" on the cookie banner, which you can reopen with the Cookies link at the bottom of every page. Declining stops the tracking and removes the analytics cookies, and we remember your choice on your device. Google may process this information outside the UK under its own safeguards.
This website has no forms. Like most websites, our hosting provider may also automatically record basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, in server logs. These are used only to keep the website secure and working properly.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange an inspection
- To prepare and send you a quote
- To carry out, manage and follow up on any work we do for you, including invoices and guarantees
- To keep the business, tax and accounting records the law requires
We won't use your details for marketing, and we never sell your information.
Our lawful bases
We use your information because it's necessary to take steps you've asked for before entering into a contract, such as preparing a quote, and to carry out that contract. We also rely on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business, and on our legal obligations, such as keeping financial records. We use website analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used so we can improve it.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where it's needed to provide our service, for example with:
- Trusted trades or suppliers who help us carry out your job
- Our accountants, insurers and professional advisers
- The providers of the phone, email, IT and website hosting services we use
- Google, which provides our website analytics
- Authorities such as HMRC, where the law requires it
How long we keep it
If your enquiry doesn't lead to any work, we'll delete your details once they're no longer needed, normally within 12 months. If we carry out work for you, we keep job and financial records for as long as the law requires, usually six years.
Keeping it secure
We take appropriate steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your information
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- Ask for your information to be transferred to another organisation
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We'll respond within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
